Freeze-fracture preparation of P.falciparum hemozoin

Hemozoin crystals exhibit a triclinic habit (Parasitol Res 100, 2007, 671-676). Triclinic crystals exhibit the least symmetry of the crystal systems and can be any shape without much restriction. The three unequal axes intersecting at oblique angles.
